Recruitment Garage

AI has a new job. It’s in your business.

Co-hosting The Tech Savvy Recruiter has given me a front row seat to the AI evolution.

And here’s the story so far:

  • 2022/23: AI write this post for me (ChatGPT launched late 2022)
  • 2024/25: AI run this workflow for me (Agentic AI tools took off)
  • 2026+: AI monitor my business and triggers actions (Autonomous mode)

Here’s why this matters.

Each stage of this evolution has widened the gap between firms that have embedded AI and those that haven’t. This is a trend, not an event. And it’s fast moving!

It’s not about being “cutting edge” anymore. It’s about your competitive advantage.

Companies embracing AI are impressing clients and candidates with both speed and quality. They’re managing more reqs without adding headcount and the big one…they aren’t buried in admin anymore.

Research by LinkedIn shows recruiters spend ~60% of their time on process work. Admin, scheduling interviews, chasing, reminding, updating records….

???? Here’s the good news

Most of that work is rule-based. And AI now executes rule-based work really well.

The opportunity sitting in front of you.

Remember those two things I hear you say all the time? “I want to work ON my business, not IN it” and “I need more time for actual client work”?

This is how you get there.

If you’ve been dabbling with AI, now’s the moment to shift from curious experimenter to intentional implementer and wipe that admin burden right off your plate!

Use that time to engage with clients and work ON your business to grow it.

Ready?

Start small, build steadily.

You don’t need to overhaul everything at once. Just pick one process that drains your time, implement an AI solution for it, and then move to the next.

A few simple ideas to start:

Get time back in your inbox

Email management → Fyxer and Superhuman triage your inbox, draft replies and flag what actually needs you

LinkedIn DMs → Kondo manages your LinkedIn inbox so nothing falls through the cracks (1 month free here)  https://app.trykondo.com/referral/JAV963

Typing → Wispr Flow turns voice to text – stop typing and save hours.

Candidate workflow

Call notes → CoRecruit automatically takes notes, creates candidate summaries and loads everything to your CRM

CV formatting → Drag a messy CV into Allsorter, get a branded formatted version in seconds

References → AI sends requests, tracks responses and compiles feedback into a structured summary

Candidate submission → Client intro drafted automatically once candidate is ready to submit

Intent triggers → Automate data enrichment to identify candidates on the move before your competitors do

Business development

Sales follow-up → Auto-generate follow-up emails from call summaries and trigger next steps

Proposals → AI pulls your relevant experience and terms and drafts a customised proposal doc

Operations and admin

Invoicing → Automate end to end – sending, reminders and payment reconciliation

Reporting → Board level reports without doing the analysis – check out Metaview

Revenue summary → Compiled and emailed to you automatically every week

Already in your CRM?

✨ Before you buy anything new – check what AI features are already sitting in your CRM that you’re not using.

Most providers are making huge plays right now and you probably have capabilities you don’t even know about.

The recruitment founders winning in 2026 aren’t necessarily the biggest or the best resourced. They’re the ones designing their business smartly.

This is your moment to do exactly that.

Behind The Name

Belinda Kerr

From meat pies to mung beans… I grew up on a cattle property in a hippy village. A little diverse perhaps. I remember the hippies coming en masse to Nimbin when I was young and our sleepy little farming village transforming overnight – we were famous! National media attention put us on the map… and in the guidebooks attracting travellers from Montreal to Munich.

I was exposed to every view, ideal and judgement of the day and found it fascinating how different we all are. The variety sparked a lifelong interest in what makes people tick (myself included). I guess it’s no accident, (although it totally was) that I landed in recruitment. I now live in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, another diverse and beautiful part of the world, with my family, two scraggy dogs, and a vibrant community of great friends. Funny how life can take you full circle.

All I need is a Kombi to complete the picture.
