A couple of weeks ago I asked our community…

What’s your #1 challenge in your recruitment business right now?

I wasn’t expecting it to be a scientific survey, more of a straw poll. 

But, with a few hundred replies across APAC and North America, it’s given us a pretty clear snapshot of what founders are feeling.

And honestly, it’s always kind of comforting to hear you’re not the only one facing the same issues.

The big three that came through loud and clear were:
– Market uncertainty
– Lack of clients
– Lack of jobs

Together, these accounted for more than 60% of all responses.

So yes, you’re in good company if things feel tough right now.

But here’s the interesting part → hardly anyone mentioned competitors as their main challenge. 

It’s not about what others are doing… it’s about finding and winning the right clients and jobs. 

That tells me there’s opportunity for those who can adapt quickly and position themselves as trusted partners.

A couple of founders mentioned they’ve got plenty of leads, but the problem is moving those conversations forward into real business. 

That’s actually a positive because it means things will improve with a better conversion system.

The takeaway? 

The challenges are real, but they’re also shared.  And with the right approach, there’s still opportunity.
