You know when you speak to somebody and you just think yep, you’ve got what it takes.
That happened to me today.
I had a call with a founder looking to join my Scale Project program.
And she REALLY stood out.
✅ A go getter.
✅ A start up doing over $40K/month in her first 5 months.
✅ Already doing a ton of stuff right, but wanting to crack the $1million mark in 12months.
She said it’s OK if I don’t hit the mil – if I do $600K, I’ll be happy, but why not go for big.
Love that!
She really struck me as someone who will succeed, no matter what adversity comes her way.
And here’s why.
She…
- has relentless curiosity
- is confident and backs herself without any hint of arrogance
- doesn’t think she knows it all
- was all ears listening to what might help her
- has a positive and can-do attitude (I know straight off a CV!!) but she really does
- owns her successes and her failures. No blaming the market, her old boss or her first boyfriend at high school for any shortcomings!
- is quick to review and make decisions
- understands that having the right people in her corner isn’t a nice to have, it’s a turbo charger.
- is prepared to do the work that will bring the results
- is a systems thinker
I want to see everybody in my community succeed.
- But it’s not up to me.
- It’s up to you.
I’m sharing this because I speak to a lot of founders who have exactly the same potential, ready to bust through, but right now there’s a block… they’ve “drifted a bit”.
And sometimes all it takes is a reminder of the mindset that got you started in the first place to start winning again.
So, wanting to be positive here!
What’s the one thing you can do today to reset your edge?
