Start here to reclaim your freedom

🚀 Ready to reclaim your freedom? It starts with buying back your most precious asset.

Your time.

I’ve met so many business owners stuck in the daily grind, thinking they have to do everything themselves. Uh uh.

You probably already hear this a lot, but what I wanted to share today was where to start in freeing up more of your time to ultimately get more freedom.

Here’s a couple of “basics” that helped me really start to create freedom in my day.

👉 Start with your inbox. (Don’t give your day away to your inbox.)

Never look at it! – yep that’s right.

Here’s how to free yourself from the shackles of your inbox AND never miss anything important.

1) Unsubscribe from newsletters you never read and redirect others to a label that bypasses your inbox and read them at your leisure.

2) Create these folders/labels

 –  “.For review” (get your VA to put anything in there that you need to look at, for example candidates to call). The dot is just so it appears at the top.

 – “.Pending” (for emails you send and are waiting for a reply.)

 –  To reply (emails your VA will reply to)

–   Replied (for you to reference if you want to after your VA replies)

–   Other folders that are relevant for you for later reference such as Financial and Legal.

–   Archive emails requiring nothing further (or delete)

Two Rules. (I know I’m bossy)

đź’Ş Build the muscle to never look at an email before your VA/Assistant. A real challenge but possible for the brave!

🎯 Have your VA get your inbox to zero every day. (Have them check 2-3 times/day)

Teach your VA how you want this done, refine the process with them over time and then trust them. It’s well worth the upfront time investment.

Create folders that actually make sense, review your “.For review” and “.Pending” every day and write out simple guidelines for replies for your VA to reply on your behalf where they can

No more inbox chaos, thank you!

👉 Take control of your calendar.

Define what your perfect week looks like, review it regularly, and make sure every meeting has a purpose.

If you send links to allow people to book you might like to batch them to keep you focussed. In fact, batch everything you can, i.e. candidate calls, interviews, planning time etc.

Don’t complicate your calendar with task management. Your calendar is only for things that need to happen at a certain time.

Ideally have one calendar only. Two, if you really want to keep personal and work calendars separate.

Create a colour coding system – for e.g. personal, work or internal meetings etc.

👉 Nail your communication with your assistant. Daily check-ins, clear requests, and feedback loops that actually close. Trust me, this will save your sanity.

Here’s the real question:

“How much is my time really worth?”

When you implement these simple systems, a few magical things happen:

âś… You stop drowning in emails.

âś… Your calendar finally works for you, not against you.

✅ Communication becomes… dare I say, effortless.

And the best part? You unlock the space you need to focus on the big stuff and stepping into your next exciting stage of growth.

So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, ask yourself:

Have I got these two foundational “time free-ers” dialled in.

Because at the end of the day, your business should be giving you freedom—not stealing it.

Go on, give it a go. You’ve got this!
