Recruitment Garage

Get your recruitment agency cited by LLMs.

What if I told you your next big client may well find you inside their favourite LLM.

You may have come across the term GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation.) Simply put, GEO is the practice of structuring content so that it gets cited by AI search engines like Perplexity, ChatGPT etc.

If you run a founder-led recruitment agency, the rules of content are getting completely rewritten in your favour.

You don’t need to be a high-profile content creator getting absurd engagement to be cited in GEO (or its cousin AEO which is more questions answer based). In fact, likes and comments aren’t the driver. Posting high value content demonstrating your expertise is what will get you recommended.

I was listening to some fascinating data and insights from AJ Wilcox and Kevin Deitz on The LinkedIn Ads Show that provide clues as to how you can be recommended by the LLMs.

👇 Here they are:

🌐 LinkedIn is the #2 cited domain globally across AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity. It’s where AI goes to learn about B2B.

📝️ Don’t ignore articles. 60% of LLM citations referenced by LinkedIn are articles and 20% are individual posts.

🔥 AI doesn’t care about virality. The average post cited by AI models has only 15 to 25 likes. You don’t need a viral hit; you need deep, niche authority.

🖊 75% of cited content comes from active creators posting original frameworks at least 5x a month. Reshares? They make up less than 5% of AI citations.

💡 95% of your market isn’t hiring today. But they are asking AI for market insights, salary benchmarks, and talent trends right now. Help them with that and you’ll make it to their shortlist.

Where I see the opportunity for recruitment founders.

No need to keep chasing cheap likes with generic advice. Start posting real market intelligence:

  • Specific salary shifts you’re seeing on the ground
  • Niche skill bottlenecks in your sector
  • Original breakdown of hiring friction

LLMS love lists, comparisons and numbers, so include those in your content.

Copy your expert posts as articles and to your company page.

LLMs can access company pages more readily that personal feeds, so they are becoming increasingly important for that reason.

When a decision-maker asks AI, “Who understands the tech talent market right now?”, you want the LLM to print your agency’s name.

🚀 Are you posting just to feed the feed, or are you positioning your firm to be the answer?

Lean into sharing your expertise and follow the tips above. The LLMs will love you for it.

Behind The Name

Belinda Kerr

From meat pies to mung beans… I grew up on a cattle property in a hippy village. A little diverse perhaps. I remember the hippies coming en masse to Nimbin when I was young and our sleepy little farming village transforming overnight – we were famous! National media attention put us on the map… and in the guidebooks attracting travellers from Montreal to Munich.

I was exposed to every view, ideal and judgement of the day and found it fascinating how different we all are. The variety sparked a lifelong interest in what makes people tick (myself included). I guess it’s no accident, (although it totally was) that I landed in recruitment. I now live in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, another diverse and beautiful part of the world, with my family, two scraggy dogs, and a vibrant community of great friends. Funny how life can take you full circle.

All I need is a Kombi to complete the picture.
